As a Retirement Analyst you will perform actuarial analysis and calculations for a group of clients to support their business needs and ensure compliance with plan and government requirements.

To fulfill this role you will:
Program and develop liabilities using actuarial principles and Mercer’s proprietary valuation technology for a variety of valuation types (ie. going concern, solvency, windup, accounting) and a variety of funding methods; including preparation of gain and loss analysis and test cases.
Value employer benefits liabilities (including accounting liabilities) under various plan design scenarios and for special costings.
Complete benefit calculations, review plan documents, produce employee benefit statements and file annual government reports.
Examine and verify retirement trust financial statements.
Maintain communication with clients regarding employer data; liaise with financial institutions to resolve fund related queries; and work in an integrated team to ensure the client’s needs are met.

As a Health & Benefits Analyst you will help in the plan design, financing, valuation of, and pricing of medical, dental, life and disability programs for employees and retirees.

To fullfill this role you will:
Value employer benefit liabilities (including accounting liabilities) under various plan design scenarios using established procedures.
Collect, analyze and interpret benefit plan experience data.
Estimate future plan costs and calculate plan prices.
Assist in the development of customized pricing and valuation models.
Develop awareness of benefit plan designs, cost factors and renewal processes.

Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science or a related field
Commitment to achieving ASA/FSA designations
Superior analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Ability to work in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities and demands
Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communications skills.

Phoenix Engineering is seeking highly intelligent, motivated and responsible Wind Resource Assessment Specialists specifically Master of Science in Mathematics and Statistics graduates. With the assistance and guidance of Phoenix staff successful candidates will be responsible for:
• Wind resource assessment using industry standard software packages such as WAsP, WindPro and WindFarm and advanced Matlab tools.
• Statistical analysis of wind data using software developed by Phoenix Engineering
• Writing technical reports.
• Development of wind data analysis procedures and related software tools.
• Monitoring and maintenance of Phoenix Engineering’s on-line data management tools such as WindServer (www.WindServer.ca).

Qualifications:
• Graduate degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Atmospheric Science or a related program
• Strong mathematical and statistical skills
• Proficiency with Matlab
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Microsoft Word, Access and Excel)
• A passion for the wind energy industry
• Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team in a growing industry
• Attention to detail and excellent analytical capabilities
• Understanding of meteorological phenomenon would be an asset
• Experience working with mapping software is desired
• Fluency in French would be an asset
