Department of Mathematics and Statistics 14th Annual Acadia University Mathematics Competition.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Acadia University is proud to organize the 14th annual Acadia University Mathematics Competition. This competition is open to any  undergraduate student at Acadia from all department and faculties. We will also be inviting local high school students to compete as well! The problems are challenging and are designed to test your mathematical mental toughness without requiring really advanced mathematical topics. Most of the problems can be solved using high school math, geometry and trigonometry, some first year Calculus and a sprinkle of ingenuity.

WHEN:  Saturday March 28th, 11am-1pm

WHERE: Huggins Science Hall Room 173

PRIZES:

  • $200 for 1st Place
  • $100 for the highest score from a first-year student
  • $100 for the highest score high school student

There will also be SNACKS!

In addition, some of the mathematics professors have agreed to give bonus marks for participation in the contest.
