Exploring Careers in Actuarial Science - Presentation by Ekler
On Thursday, October 1, approximately 30 Acadia students joined us in the Math Lounge for an engaging presentation on careers in Actuarial Science.
The session featured two Acadia alumni, Scott Mossman and Katie Parker, from Eckler, Canada’s largest independent actuarial consulting firm and one of the largest employers of actuaries in Atlantic Canada. Students heard about their experiences as actuaries, got a glimpse into a typical day as an actuarial analyst, and learned about the different pathways to becoming an actuary.
The presentation offered students an opportunity to explore where a background in mathematics can lead and to ask questions about careers in the actuarial field. Whether students are already considering Actuarial Science or were simply curious about career possibilities, the session provided a valuable look at the profession from two Acadia graduates who are now working in the field.
