Research Opportunities for Undergraduate Students

The opportunity for undergraduate students to be involved in reasearch is rare and an indication of the level to which students can become involved in our department.  Our honours students prepare and present an Honours Thesis in their final year.  This is a wonderful opportunity to gain deep knowledge in a chosen field, and wonderful experience for those headed to post-graduate work.

Examples of undergraduate theses can be found through the university library website via the link below.

Students also have opportunities to present their work externally, such as at the annual Science Atlantic Mathematics & Statistics Conference.

Senior undergraduate students also have the opportunity to apply for summer research positions, which allow them to work closely with a faculty supervisor.  This experience often leads to future thesis topics.
