Assistants and Summer Employment

Scholarships aren't the only potential source of income for students. Beginning in the second year, students with good records are frequently employed as grading assistants or as research assistants in the department during the school year (on a part-time basis). In addition, career-related summer employment is frequently available in the insurance industry, in the Government of Canada, or in the department (among others).

Co-operative Education

Acadia students have enjoyed the benefits of co-operative education since 1982. Students in Mathematics & Statistics are eligible to join the co-operative program and gain hands-on, paid experience at a job related to their field of study. Students can choose between an Internship Co-op Program, in which you work with a single employer for a period of 12 to 16 months, or the Regular Co-op Program, in which you complete three to four work terms of four months duration. Please refer to Acadia's Co-Op Education Web Site for more information.
